UPC
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) is a public university devoted to high level education and research excellence in engineering. The participation of the UPC in the COST-TMA action is carried out by the Broadband Communications Group (UPC-CBA).
UPC-CBA holds a deep expertise in main networking topics (e.g., QoS routing, traffic engineering, resilience, mobility, content distribution networks, new network architectures), optical networking (e.g., optical routing, network optimization, multi-layer integrated control), and network monitoring and traffic analysis.
Research topics relevant to TMA:
- Available bandwidth estimation (in wired and wireless networks)
- Data streaming algorithms for traffic analysis
- Design of network monitoring systems
- Impact of sampling on anomaly detection
- Network performance evaluation and QoS monitoring
- Optical network monitoring and measurement of high-speed links
- Overload management in network monitoring systems
- Traffic classification
