Networked Media Group

Networked Media (NWMED) is a research group within the Department of Telecommunications, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), University of Zagreb.

The research goal of the NWMED is to gain deeper comprehension of the quality of service (QoS) requirements for advanced and interactive multimedia services such as networked virtual environments, and complex relationships between the application-level and network-level QoS. The focus is on application/session level control signaling, negotiation, and adaptation of QoS for media-rich services in the heterogeneous all-IP environment of the converged 3rd generation network and beyond.

The NWMED team members are involved in the national research project "Content Delivery and Mobility of Users and Services in New Generation Networks" (project no. 036-0362027-1639) funded by the Ministry of Science Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia, and in several research projects funded by the Ericsson Nikola Tesla company in Zagreb, Croatia.

Research on TMA-related topics relevant for the NWMED activities is focusing on user behavior in networked games as related to traffic and relationship and mapping between QoS and QoE.
